Watch: Crossing State Lines for Abortion Care

</p> <p>Because past week’s Supreme Courtroom ruling overturning <em>Roe v. Wade</em>, a single state just after one more has outlawed abortion. Illinois is just one of the handful of states in the center of the place where by people can nonetheless lawfully obtain abortion treatment. </p> <p>In this report co-made by PBS NewsHour, KHN senior correspondent Sarah Varney traveled from Illinois’ border with Missouri to its border with Wisconsin to converse to clinicians who deliver abortion treatment. Dr. Erin King is the govt director of Hope Clinic for Women in Granite Metropolis, Illinois, across the Mississippi River from St. Louis. </p> <p>King said she previously sees more individuals from outdoors Illinois who have traveled much to get treatment. “The distance has enhanced and people’s means have decreased,” King stated, including that some individuals imagine the method is illegal everywhere. </p> <p>
